Paleo Snacks That Will Keep You Fuller For Longer

When it comes to dieting, you’re somewhat spoilt for choice. Which one you go for often depends on which foods you can’t bear to give up. Unfortunately, if you’re hesitant to lose out on your favorite treats, the paleo diet might be difficult for you. It’s all about eating the way our ancient ancestors did; only you don’t have to hunt your meals down. This doesn’t give you a great deal of choice when it comes to food, though it still allows for plenty of great snacks that’ll fill you up.

Homemade oven beef jerky

Beef jerky and the paleo diet probably doesn’t sound like a match made in heaven. However, if you substitute that store bought jerky for a homemade alternative, it makes for a deliciously filling treat that won’t ruin your diet.

Combining chewy beef with a nice mix of spices like oregano and paprika, this homemade snack is perfect for keeping you going when you’re low on energy. It’s packed full of protein and free of any artificial products. Plus, it’s nice and easy to make, so you don’t have to stress yourself out trying to adjust to the paleo ways of life.

Lemon bars

Who doesn’t love a lemon bar? They’re simple to eat and add some of that zest your palate might be missing. They don’t require many ingredients, hence why they’re great for the paleo diet. Plus, baking them is as easy as pie.

All you need is some almond and coconut flour for the shortbread, and lemon, honey, and eggs for the filling. After about 25 minutes in the oven, these ingredients will give you one of the tastiest snacks imaginable, and do a lot for your sweet tooth too.

Zucchini bread bars

Another tasty dessert treat that’ll fill you up good is some zucchini bread bars. If the name intrigues you, then the ingredients ought to really blow your mind. A combination of zucchini, banana, cashew butter and chocolate aim to bring your taste buds alive while ensuring you don’t break any of the rules of your paleo diet.

They take very little time to make, requiring only 10 minutes to prepare and another 30 to bake. Once cooled down, a couple of these bite-size treats will stave off those hunger pangs for a good few hours or so.

Chicken tenders

Meat is an essential part of the paleo diet because it's one of the few things that was actually around all those years ago. If you want to add a little flavor to your meaty treats, though, why not try making some chicken tenders - the healthy version.

Coating your chicken in almond and coconut flour will ensure this snack still abides by your diet without losing the taste. A dash of black pepper, paprika, and cayenne pepper will also give it the kick it needs to spice up your mid-morning or afternoon snack.

Going on the paleo diet doesn’t mean you have to make sacrifices left, right and center. Yes, there are certain things you can’t eat, but there are always alternatives that are just as filing and so much healthier.
