Most of us want to extend our lives, so we try and do everything we can to ensure that we live to a ripe old age. We exercise, we eat healthily, and we even force ourselves to go for that morning run for fresh air - however much we hate it. However, in a world where new and improved foods and meals are making their way onto our shelves, we often don’t think about the impact it’s having on our lives. In fact, it’s recommended that you don’t eat these foods if you want to live a long and healthy life…
Chinese takeout
There’s nothing better than ordering takeout and not having to cook. Yet, when you don’t cook this food yourself, there’s no way to know what’s being put in the food, or how it’s being cooked. That’s why it’s best to avoid eating Chinese takeout regularly because it’s full of fat and salt. This food is overloaded with sodium, which can be harmful if you eat too much of it. This can lead to obesity, high blood pressure, heart disease, and other dangerous conditions.
Fast food
We’ve always been told that fast food is bad for us, but that’s not just because these experts love to go on about it. Fast food really can be harmful to our bodies, and stunt our ability to live a long and healthy life. Not only are the foods in McDonald’s and Burger King extremely high in calories, but they are also high in sodium and saturated fat. This will increase your cholesterol level and could lead to obesity and heart disease.
Processed Meats
Sometimes you just really need a hot dog, right? Well, although the odd hot dog is alright every now and then, it’s important that you don’t add a huge amount of processed meat into your diet. That’s because processed meat has been classified as a carcinogen by the World Health Organization - and we all know that carcinogens are not good for us as they are thought to cause cancer. Processed meats can also contribute to the risk of heart disease.
Foods with added MSG
While MSG is often naturally found in foods, many companies often add this flavor enhancer to their products. Because it makes them taste so good, you want to go back for more. However, MSG can have adverse effects on the body. After eating foods with this in it, you may find yourself suffering in the short term and the long term. You may suffer from chest pain, headaches, heart palpitations, nausea, and other symptoms. It’s best just to avoid it completely, and search for those foods that haven’t been laden with MSG. Eat other foods that are high in natural minerals and vitamins, that will give your body that natural rush.
If you want to live and long and healthy life, there are certain things that you can do. The first is that you don’t eat these foods - because your body will thank you for it!
